TASTING NOTES OF HERDADE DAS SERVAS VINHAS VELHAS

Clear, deep violet red wine, with aromas of plum, black cherry, fig, chocolate, spices and also floral notes of violets. Complex, structured, full-bodied and fresh, with some hints of toast from barrel ageing, smoked notes, rich tannins and long finish, this wine has excellent potential for storage and ageing.

Alicante Bouschet (45%), Touriga Nacional (30%), Trincadeira (20%) and Petit Verdot (5%)
Serve at a temperature of 16-18ºC. Decanting is recommended.

The grapes were sorted manually, destemmed and underwent pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation itself was carried out in “Lagares” and stainless steel vats with temperature control.

En 21 ans de production à Herdade das Servas, le Vinhas Velhas ne possède que 5 éditions (2005, 2009, 2012, 2014 et 2015). Les anciens vignobles ont leur propre temps, ce vin n’étant alors produit que lorsque ceux-ci réunissent réellement les conditions parfaites.
En 1996/1997, un surgreffage aérien a été fait sur nos anciennes vignes (chip budding), ce qui nous permet d’avoir différents cépages.
